Everton have announced another change
ahead of the 2013-14 season, introducing a Nike kit weighing 150 grams
and made from recycled polyester.
It has already been a summer full of change at Goodison Park, with a new badge and a new manager already in place.
Roberto Martinez, who took over from David Moyes at the club, will see his team playing in the new strip, which adds plenty more white to the iconic royal blue strip.
The kit - featuring the 'one-year only' badge - brings a white collar and two white hoops to the sleeves, with opinion seemingly divided among Everton’s fan base.
It fits in with previous Nike designs, developed to draw sweat away from the body and help keep players cool in the heat of a game, although it is just 150 grams, 23 per cent lighter than previous kits.
Martinez is currently in Brazil
watching the Confederations Cup but will be confident that star left
back Leighton Baines will be wearing the new recycled polyester kit,
with the 28-year-old insisting he is eager to work with the new boss.
When the Spaniard returns from the tournament, he will be looking to secure the future of Marouane Fellaini and aiming to add players to his squad who suit his style of play, with Wigan duo James McCarthy and Arouna Kone linked.
The 2013-14
Everton home kit is available to pre-order from June 27 online at
evertondirect.com or in store at Everton One or Everton Two. The new kit
will be officially launched at a special event on Wednesday July 24.

Dave
Biggar, Everton’s commercial director, said: ‘Producing the Everton kit
is a hugely important task, and the 2013-14 home kit has been designed
by Nike with both our supporters and playing squad in mind.
‘We
hope the kit will prove to be as popular with our supporters as it was
with Roberto Martinez and the players when they were given a preview,
and we are very much looking forward to a successful launch in the
coming weeks.’
